Overview

The American Values Atlas (AVA) is a project of PRRI. All demographic, religious, and political affiliation data are based on larger random samples of adults (age 18 and up) living in all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, in the United States. From 2013-2020, data collection was conducted via telephone; data collection transitioned to online starting in 2021. Since 2014, the AVA also includes a set of issue questions comprising subsets of the total samples covering a variety of topics. Any states and metro areas with fewer than 100 cases are excluded. For further details, please refer to the methodology statements for each year.

Launched in 2014, the PRRI American Values Atlas provides a dynamic and detailed view of America's changing religious and cultural landscape based on annual surveys of thousands of adults.
